Sorry if I don't say anything for a few days.
I DID end up going to Clean Monday in Galaxidi. It was great, but something about waking up at 5 am and taking a 6 hour bus ride and throwing tons of flour in the air with 4000 Greeks was not good for my health, so now I have a cold! It was worth it :)

Study Abroad Resolution #1:
Today I was at Deree orientation. I was sitting next to a very stern Greek student who wasn’t saying a word, and it was kind of intimidating. Things I wish I brought for my first week abroad:
-Snacks! Oh my goodness nothing is worse than that 3 hour time when all the restaurants close down in the afternoon! -Sleeping pills. I’m serious, Excedrin PM would be a life saver. I stay up until 4 AM every morning and then sleep until noon. -Tea or instant coffee. For the opposite effect of those sleeping pills! -A map of my city. It took me a while to find one of these, but once I...

Some things I have seen in Greece so far:
A man having a seizure while driving. He blocked a lot of traffic, but all was well in the end. A man yelling at tourists for harassing Greece’s stray cats. He threatened to call the cops. About 1000 stray cats. I tried to adopt several. Zero riots. I felt completely secure going into Athens (I did avoid the parliament building, though.) The metro was also very nice and clean! Many, many...

Top Five Little Things to Pack:
(this post brought to you by my mother, who has been a flight attendant for 30 years and once studied abroad herself!) 1) Carry-on bottles- Useful for when you get on the plane, and useful for when you’re traveling around during study abroad. Then there is no need to bring huge bottles of shampoo for a weekend trip! 2) A travel alarm clock- “Those fancy cell phones,” says my...
